Feinsteins Accused of Diverting Mortgage Payoffs

Norton Feinstein, 75, former attorney, Norwalk, Connecticut and Stephen Feinstein, 56, suspended attorney and Taxing District commissioner, Norwalk, Connecticut were arresting and charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny. Stephen Feinstein was also charged with forgery. Both men plead not guilty to the charges.

In January, the father and son who formerly practiced law together were charged in connection with allegations that they failed to pay off a client’s mortgage and HELOC after completing the sale of her home.

The new charges arise from three separate client complaints – two against both father and son and one that only involves Stephen Feinstein. The two complaints against the father and son jointly both arise from alleged failure to remit payoff funds to lending institutions after closing sale transactions.
