Guilty Pleas in Ft. Lauderdale Mortgage Fraud

Samantha and Scott Warren Johnson Admit Roles

Samantha Johnson, Parkland, Florida and Scott Warren Johnson, Parkland, Florida, pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a mortgage fraud scheme in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. The original Mortgage Fraud Blog article on the indictments can be read here.

Christine Eker previously pled guilty (Christine Eker - Plea Agreement.)

According to the Indictment, Samantha Johnson and Mary Jo Bellavia-Sabag, both licensed mortgage brokers, engaged in a scheme where they fraudulently deeded residential properties in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties to themselves, aliases, and sham corporations by recording fraudulent or forged quitclaim deeds. Samantha Johnson and Scott Warren Johnson sold the properties to unsuspecting third parties or obtained loans secured by the properties.
