Parker Receives Fine

Timothy Parker, a former real estate agent who was convicted by a jury in December of forging his accountant's signature on a tax return submitted in connection with a mortgage application was sentenced by a judge in Prescott, Arizona. The judge ordered Parker to pay a $500 fine along with a $400 surcharge. Parker's attorney indicated that Parker will appeal the sentence within the statutory time period. During the December trial, the defense argued that Parker did not falsify the document though his assistant may have done so. His mortgage broker testified that Parker did not need to inflate income to qualify for the loan and he had good credit and made a 20% down payment.
