Pennsylvania Attorney faces lawsuits and disciplinary action

Monday, August 21 2006 05:34

Mark F. Morrison, Hopwood, Pennsylvania, his law office, and his wife, Deborah, who works as his legal secretary were sued by Bernard and Gloria Rakoczy, Hopwood, Pennsylvania, who allege that Morrison failed to conduct a proper closing for the refinancing of the lot for their mobile home, according to media reports. The Rakoczys' neighbors, George and Donna Dextras, filed a similar complaint in Fayette County court last week and First American Title Insurance also filed a lawsuit earlier this year alleging that Morrison's law firm forged closing documents bearing its name in the real estate transactions involving the Rakoczys and Dextrases, according to media reports.

Morrison was charged with professional misconduct by the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania state Supreme Court in November. His law license remains active pending the results of the disciplinary hearing.

continued... home. We are living with black mold through out the home. We have done our best to try and remove it. I have spent countless hours on the phone looking for help. But to my dismay I keep getting the all to famous word, "I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do." I have heard this from everyone. I cry every day thinking it can't get worse but it does. I know you are asking yourself why did i not see these hazards prior to moving in. Well I found the home listed online with a local Realtor and did everything by mail and via fax.So I never viewed the home. I was assured everything was perfect. Even at the closing I was not at. My agent even offered me money to go away after I confronted him with all the mess at that home. Wow I am living a nightmare. Is there any help out there. Any other place I can look? I really need help. Please someone answer my prayers and direct me in the right direction.

    Hi,
Heard about mortgage fraud today on CNN.
I bought a manufactured home July of 2007. It was an FHA loan. This home passed an inspection but I have know idea how. There were and still are potential hazards through out the home. FHA claims on paper the came to inspect the home but I find it hard to believe. As the report states the covered patio and storage shed on the property. Well there was none nor did we ever have them. Lots of exposed 220 lines as well as 110 lines. My husband even fell threw the floor 2 times. Windows were literally falling inside the home. Now I did get an attorney and sued the real estate agents for not disclosing any of this information and also for not having the home inspection in which I paid for. I did win that case but as time went on more and more keeps going wrong. The sum we settled on would never be able to come close to repairing this dilapidated
