Ohio Appraiser Surrenders License

Tuesday, June 05 2007 03:59

Jeremy K. Virgin surrendered his real estate appraiser license to the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of Real Estate & Professional Licensing prior to a scheduled Preliminary and Permanent Injunction hearing in Franklin County, Ohio Common Pleas Court.

The Division sought and obtained a temporary restraining order against Virgin on May 15, 2007, which restrained him from engaging in appraisal practice. The verified complaint and motion for the TRO was brought on the Division’s behalf by Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann’s office.

Prior to a preliminary and permanent injunction hearing, Virgin permanently surrendered his license on May 25, 2007 in a settlement agreement with the Division and agreed to never apply for reinstatement of that license or any other appraiser license, certification or registration in Ohio.

In a separate matter, Virgin was indicted on April 27, 2007 by a Franklin County, Ohio grand jury on three counts of forgery, three counts of secured writings by deception and one count of theft.
