Man Accused of Forging Quit Claims on Lots Owned by Non-Residents

Thomas Anthony Sandelier, 48, 1500 block of North West Britt Road, Jensen Beach, Florida, was arrested and charged with felony grand theft, identity theft and an organized scheme to defraud charges. According to authorities, Sandelier would search for vacant lots in Port Lucie, Florida (usually owned by Europeans residing out of the country), forge the owner’s name on a deed transferring the property to himself and then sell the property to a third person, keeping the entire purchase price. At this time, he has only been charged in connection with one property but it is believed that he may have stolen as many as 200 properties in this manner. The Florida Department of Law enforcement ran an undercover operation to catch Sandelier, after being contacted by a title company suspicious of signatures on deeds that Sandelier was submitting.

Strange how the rules change regarding forgery, fraud, real estate theft. Here in Fresno, CA I uncovered forged legal documents (verified.) It appears to be an elder abuse/real estate theft/insurance fraud ring comprised of estate attys, estate planners, insurance agents, realtors, alarm companies, Home Health and more. Working hand-in-hand, they could not appear more legitimate in what they are doing. Believe it or not, solid evidence was not enough to have this looked into. So they will continue to get by with preying on the elderly and taking what others worked lifetimes to have. Who would believe someone pleading for help, when surrounded by these heroic people.
Sounds like this guy did business in the wrong town.
