Man Indicted for Converting Loan Security to Personal Use

Gregory T. Flowe, 38, Chesnee, South Carolina, was charged in a one count Indictment with conversion of property mortgaged and pledged to the Farm Services Agency, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 658.

The maximum penalty Gregory T. Flowe could receive is a fine of $250,000.00 and/or imprisonment for five years.

United States Attorney W. Walter Wilkins made the announcement and stated that the case was investigated by agents of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General, and that he has assigned the case to Assistant United States Attorney William C. Lucius of the Greenville office for prosecution.

The United States Attorney stated that all charges in this Indictment are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
