On September 13, 2004 World Savings Bank FSB filed a civil suit in the United States District Court of Maryland, Northern District (CV02942) against Kamose Tao, Tao & Associates, Inc. t/a Park Place Real Estate, Atlantic Residential Mortgage Incorporated, Real Estate Professional Services, Inc. t/a Century 21 Home Specialists, Jaqueline Gilbert of Allegheny Title Company, LLC, First American Title Insurance Company, Jonathan S. Bach, Esq of Allegheny Title Company, Above & Beyond, LLC, Links Project Management, Inc., Hensen Contractors, Incorporated and Contemporary Management Community Development Corp alleging that the defendants were involved in mortgage lending scheme resulting in the funding of 99 loans through World Savings Bank FSB. The scheme is alleged to have involved inflated appraisals, misrepresented renovations, occupancy misrepresentations, misrepresented down payments and non-arms length relationships between participants and recipients of closing funds. Causes of action include Civil racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), Fraud (as to Defendants Tao, Atlantic, Home Specialist, Park Place, Allegheny, Gilbert and Bach), Negligent Misrepresentation (as to Defendants Tao, Atlantic, Home Specialist, Park Place, Allegheny, Gilbert and Bach), Civil Conspiracy and Breach of Closing Protection Letters (as to First American)
